Lovely day spent at New Hall Hotel Spa. Therapist was excellent and ambience in the spa rooms is lovely. The hotel is beautiful - feels very special. The health suite could do with a relaxation room ideally as there is no where private to have tea/coffee/lunch unless you get dressed and go across to the hotel. This was our 2nd visit and I would definitely go again!
Upon arrival we were given our robe, towel and slippers and directed to the changing rooms. The therapist told us where everything was, but it was pretty simple as it's so small. First impressions, nice surroundings, facilities look clean, staff were very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, our hopes of relaxing by the pool before our treatment were 'drowned' by the number of children squealing. I have to say I was shocked that there were even children in there, seeing as they offer what should be 'relaxing spa days'. Thankfully they all cleared out at hotel check out time, so I can only asusme they must of been hotel guests. But word of warning, this place is so small there is no escape other than the changing room! And there are no 'dry areas' to relax in, it's all by the pool. The treatment itself was ok. I opted for a 90 minute lava shell massage, but in all honesty I wish I had gone for a normal 'hands on' massage. As the therapist had a really good firm touch, and the lava shells did nothing for me. Note, this is not the fault of the therapist. The lava shells seemed really fiddly too, so it was a 90 min treatment, probably 10-15 of which was spent sorting out the shells. Again, not the fault of the therapist, just the nature of the treatment. All in all, this isn't a terrible place by any stretch, but I probably wouldn't visit here again. I didn't find it all that relaxing, and you can only spend so long in their limited facilities til you're bored. I think have been spoiled by Fairlawns Spa with their much larger range of facilities and 'grazing bar' where you can go help yourself to snacks and drinks.
Facilities were a little small and pool was smaller than I imagined, hot tub was nice and steam room, would have liked to have food available nearer the spa - you had to go back into Hotel to eat which was extra charge for me. My manicure was OK- had much better - the nail gloss peeled in 1 day and it didint look like Id had one the following day at all. Other issue was they couldnt get my treatments together - my boyfriend had joined me for the day and I had to wait alone for an hour while he had a masaage...it was MY BIRTHDAY yet I was made to wait and read while he was treated ....didnt make it specail at all.... Hotel very quiet and the view from the gardens really cute , couldnt beleive you are so near Bham as there was NO noise.... Ideal wedding venue as you could take the whole place over and have a blast
I took my sister here for her birthday. We both loved every minute. The massage was wonderful probably one of the best I have ever had. It really makes a difference when the staff are friendly and they really were. Every member of my family will be getting this as a birthday present. The one and only downside was the price of luch fish and chips £15.00 just a bit pricey although it was lovely.
I treated my Mom to a spa day for her 70th birthday, and the day was excellent. The staff were friendly.. The venue was brilliant, and the treatments were very very good. I would definitely recommend, and definitely revisit.
