The Health Club at One Aldwych

The Health Club at One Aldwych is a hotel spa and gym in the heart of Covent Garden.

With an extensive treatment list spanning breaks, relaxing packages and exclusive tailored beauty treatments, it is also one of a select number of outlets in the UK who work with the prestigious Spanish skincare specialist, Natura Bissé.

The spa has three beautiful treatment rooms designed by interiors specialist Mary Fox Linton. Each room has silk panelling, muted colours, soft music and restful mood lighting, all designed to help therapists deliver the ultimate relaxation experience. As well as a 745 square metre gym, The Health Club at One Aldwych also has an 18m chlorine-free swimming pool with underwater music and mood lighting for a true sensory treat.

We would like to inform guests that our Indigo restaurant will be undergoing some exciting changes this year. The restaurant will be closed from 26th January 2015 to allow for the remodeling of its kitchen, and is scheduled to re-open from 19th April. The makeover will bring the restaurant’s kitchen bang up to date with the latest in cooking technology and will go further to enhance the hotel’s commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability. On reopening, guests will be welcomed back to the familiar Indigo surroundings with an enhanced, mouth-watering menu. During the short closure, it is very much “business as usual”. Axis will be open every day to serve breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Alternatively, hotel residents may opt to have meals from room service.

The spa is not very good. There is just a long pool which isn't warm enough with four loungers next to it. Right next to it is a steam room which was out of order during our visit and a sauna. We spent about 25 minutes in total in the sauna and pool and then had little else to do here. No relaxation room or any other typical spa facilities. The massage treatments were relatively good but my therapist lacked in competence somewhat. The massage room wasn't very nice (quite clinical) and the cheap quality bed wasn't conducive to relaxation. The face hole on my bed kept falling loose. The Indigo restaurant is tiny and lacking in atmosphere. We had high expectations of the food but it was only average. On the plus side, the service throughout the entire hotel is exceptional and the location is fantastic. The lastminute deal was very good value for an overnight stay but I don't think I would stay here again. The spa experience at K West is much better.

Everything was amazing. I cannot fault the hotel or the staff. It went beyond my expectations. It is a shame that the spa doesn't have a Jacuzzi but I was aware of this fact before booking.

fabulous! From the moment of arrival to departure everything as it should be! Standard room small but lovely - you need to request tea/coffee making facilities as not already in room - however this request was responded to immediately. Was 3rd visit - will be returning very soon.

The hotel itself is very stylish and the room was spacious, quiet and had all luxuries you would expect of a 5* hotel. The breakfast was varied, included in the deal was the full English. This would have been £27 if not part of the deal which is very pricey as the quality of the produce didn't taste any nicer than a standard breakfast. The staff on front reception were helpful but quite abrupt, the spa staff however, were extremely friendly and accommodating. The spa was bliss, the pool was pretty much empty at one point I did have it all to myself and the treatment (body massage) was very relaxing and professionally carired out. I would recommend this hotel and spa for anyone wanting to pamper in the heart of London, location couldn't have been more ideal for all top attractions.

My stay at the One Aldwych Hotel was absolutely wonderful, I couldn't have asked for more! The staff were incredibly helpful and always smiling, both at the Spa and in the rest of the hotel. I had a facial with Oskia products and this was complemented with a hand/arm massage while the therapist waited for my mask to dry. The Spa facilities were also really good, particularly the swimming pool.

Nice hotel in a good location, I would stay there again. The spa however is not as well equipped as you would expect, the facilities are very standard and don't reflect the luxurious feel of the rest of the hotel. For a spa I would go elsewhere.

My friend and I had a fantastic spa break. The hotel was amazing and the spa facilities could not be faulted. We enjoyed a lovely swim, steam room and sauna before our massages. We also enjoyed some cocktails in the hotel bar. The breakfast was delicious. My only fault was that it wasn't made clear to us that we could order tea in our room free of charge.

Staff sincerely wanted to be helpful. Sauna not working. Chlorine free pool a great experience. Could have more chairs poolside.

I came here with a friend for my 21st birthday and booked a 45 minute massage with the spa night package. Firstly, the location of this hotel is amazing! You are in the heart of London, surrounded by theatres and pretty buildings. The hotel itself was beautiful and just being there makes you feel special. The massage was the best massage I have ever received. The masseuse gave you a choice of what oil you wanted them to use on you depending on your reasons for getting the massage and just general preference. Our room was lovely with very comfortable beds, marble bathroom and a great view of London. Our breakfast the next morning was additionally amazing with the view of the Lion King theatre next to us. I highly recommend this hotel/spa package if you are just looking to treat yourself!

Very relaxing spa visit. Hotel had great ambience; staff friendly and moved us to alternative room as we had problems with the initial one. Great service and breakfast. Would recommend and definitely visit again.
