Having had highlights to keep my hair light blonde for years, I went in to try balayage – having done some research before to see what I liked. I showed the stylist some photos, and he advised me that it wouldn't work with my hair, and suggested instead lightening the underside of my hair and blending my roots with two different tones of blonde so that it looked more natural. He seemed to know what he was doing so I agreed to follow his advice. There was an issue with the colour on the underside, where it was dyed bright yellow/orange, so I was put back in foils to fix this. However, the end result (4 hours later) was that my hair had been dyed brown with dark brown streaks running through it – not at all like the photos I'd shown at the start. When I said that it was much darker than I was expecting, I was told that the dark brown would wash out after a few washes anyway. The cut was fine, but given I had to go elsewhere the next day to get the colour fixed and the dodgy streaks blended in, this whole treatment was a huge waste of time and money. I definitely won't be returning here any time soon and would avoid going here for any kind of colouring – given my hair was already light blonde this should have been an easy job, but it was completely messed up.
