I had booked in for a microdermabrasion, and despite my usual place doing it all in one, I have called up before booking to ask whether steaming and extraction is part of this treatment (55mins). I spoke to a lady who wasn't sure, but said she will ask and call me back, which she later did and confirmed that it is. I went ahead and booked the appointment for 11am, however MDD has changed both the time and the therapist 3 times beforehand. On the day of my appointment I was 15 mins early, and due to no receptionist present I had to knock on the shop window for another customer to let me in as no one answered the door bell (I didn't mind this at all, but it did look unprofessional). I met my therapist who said she is new, but she was very lovely. It all went well (apart from the unusually painful microdermabrasion) until after about 20 minutes the therapist said that we are done...I was surprised as I had 35 mins left from my session, so I have asked if she is going to do the steaming etc. She was unsure so went to check with someone, then came back saying it's not part of the treatment, but I will get a mask and a face massage...I was so upset as I have specifically booked this treatment for the combination of the two...to be honest I nearly walked out! I did tell her the above and how I've been misinformed on the phone, she was very nice and apologized, but she didn't really have the authority to do anything else (bless her she asked if I wanted a free hand massage...which I didn't). Upon my exit again not a soul at reception other than clients waiting, hence I didn't complain to anyone else other than the therapist. I then emailed Treatwell who have passed my comments on to the salon...and to my surprise I got a very defensive answer, basically saying that my comments were untrue ( I haven't been told on the phone extraction is included, and microdermabrasion is a form of extraction anyway which I should know if I had it done this treatment before; no complaint made to the therapist etc). I have been offered a partial refund solely based on the fact that I had to wait outside. Needless to say that I won't be returning.
can help my headache problem
When I got to the salon, it was quite busy but there wasn't a very good system for acknowledging people. Felt a bit chaotic, and meant that even though I'd arrived on time my first treatment started 15 minutes late, which was a bit annoying. My first appointment was for the 'Body Composition Analysis' - this was okay, but just took place in the main area downstairs in front of everyone else there, which made me feel a little self-conscious, particularly when one of the therapists started talking me through the results. I was expecting to do this in a private room. The discussion of results was also really rushed - I'm not sure I really understand what several of the metrics were. Was hoping to come back in six months and do it again to compare, but I'm not sure it would be worth it because of the way it's done. My second appointment was a gel manicure - although the therapist was really lovely and we had a nice chat, there wasn't a brilliant selection of colours. All Shellac though, so good quality. Application was okay - therapist was very thorough and they look nice from a distance, but when I looked at them properly I could see they were a bit uneven round the edges, and one of my nails chipped the next day. Hopefully they'll stay in good condition otherwise for a few weeks.
Eisha was lovely and I had a really great experience. I'll definitely be returning...
Professional and knowledgeable. Made me feel very relaxed.
