Had my nails done plenty of times here, but never had them remove the polish. Horrible experience - my nails were left scratched and rough. I also asked for a natural shape and instead I left with square nails. Literally had to ask for my nails to be filed on top, as they were so rough pieces of paper towel were stuck on the surface of my nails.
Won't be back for nail polish removal.
Let me set the scene for you.
It's a bright, sunny day, and unusually warm for February. the sky is cloudless and the river is calm. The tourists are eerily still, transfixed by something in the water. You walk towards the crowd, curious, and search the water for something out of the ordinary. suddenly, you see it- a quickening, a stirring of water and reflected sun rays. It's mesmerising. A leg shoots up, a leg of such smoothness like you've never seen; pores so loved that water barely kisses the perfectly moisturised skin, exfoliated by the ghosts of waxings past.
The crowd gasps, and just as quickly as it appeared, it disappeared like a whale or other large, majestic and moisturised aquatic creature. You are sprayed with the water. You are baptised by smooth leg. Mouth agape and wind swirling with wonder you turn, sensing someone behind you. You see her from afar: Kirsty, from Greenwich Spa. She sees you and winks knowingly. All your fears and bad waxings melt away from you as if they never existed. As if you've never had hair before. Babies wonder how its possible to be so silky and smooth and hairless.
But you know.
Kirsty from Greenwich Spa knows.
and soon, the world will know.
It is a good day for humanity.
I was expecting a hot wax treatment as I have had previously, but I ended up with largely strip wax which I found very painful - the therapist seemed reluctant to use the hot wax - and I stopped the treatment earlier than I wanted to because it was so uncomfortable. Really quite disappointed.
It was so amazing to have a private sauna experience. Much more therapeutic than squeezing in to a sauna room with a whole host of others. I laid back, listened to a podcast and let the dome do its job. A much deeper penitrating heat than a regular sauna too, excellent for removing heavy metals and toxins.
