I went to the Spa Day at Blue Water Spa at Best Western Plus The Connaught Hotel on 21/07/2017. The treatments that my girlfriend and I have received were both top-class and we both felt very relaxing afterwards. The staff at the reception was very cheerful and they made us feel welcome upon entering the spa. There were however a couple of points that made the day not perfect:
1) I've lost my watch from the locker in the gent changing room. Both my girlfriend and I were not made aware that in order to use the lockers, a £1 coin is required. As a result, we were struggling initially to cover our belongings in the locker in order for our treatments to not be delayed. A guest ,who also used the facilities, was very kind to share a £1 coin with us which I gave to my girlfriend so that she could lock her belongings in her locker. For my part, I covered my belongings in the gent locker with my coat with the expectations that these premises belong to a prestigious hotel so my stuff would be safe. However, at around 3 pm, when we decided to leave the facilities to go elsewhere, I realised someone had probably touched my locker and my watch was not there anymore. It was not a very expensive watch so we've decided not to report this to the receptionist but it does hold some personal memories and I was slightly upset when it was stolen.
2) The jacuzzi did not work properly on the day and were only informed about this by the plummer. As a result, the water in the jacuzzi did seem a bit dirty and the water pumps did not work properly.
Overall, the experience I have at Blue Water Spa was not perfect and I would probably not come back here in the future.
Last step down into jacuzzi was impossible for me to step down into. I should imagine anyone with mobility problems would have same trouble. No instructions on how to work it and get jets going or any warnings about being in there too long etc. Floor in 2 of changing rooms covered in talcum powder which was messy and slippery. Thought a mop could have been put round at 1-2 hourly intervals. Lot of lockers didn't work properly.
Had a great facial with Laura? Very relaxing and my friend enjoyed her massage too. No hard sell on items used which we both liked. Good pool, able to walk into it, also a bonus if you're less abled.
