It is encouraging that the Connaught are spending some money to update their facilities (lockers and showers). Unfortunately any improvements are somewhat hampered by the existing layout e.g. the lack of space around the pool and the tight corridors. Everything is very brown and rather dated. I asked for a larger dressing gown only to be told that the sizes supplied were random and at the mercy of the laundry. I think the prices charged for the Spa day accurately reflects expectations.
I specifically said that it was a mother and daughter day and we wanted to be in the same room and we were in separate rooms. My daughter said that her massage was not good, short on time and massaging the bone not the muscles. My treatments were good but therapist’s attitude was brusque. The slippers provided had no traction on wet surfaces and I fell over in the changing room. Slid all over so abandoned the slippers! Shower was filthy. No plastic bags for wet swimsuits or any way of drying.
As always a lovely pamper day with great treatments, very welcoming staff and lunch blows any calorie counter out of the window.
The only down side on this occasion, which was very minor was the relaxation room to use after the massage was quite cool on this occasion, so left earlier than we would normally. However, did not impact on day, will be back as we have been on many occasions before.
