The people at That Hair Place are lovely, the premises are nicely designed, and I wish I could leave a better review. The truth is, though, that I am not very satisfied with the job done. It was a long-waves perm but it only shows when the hair is wet and very shortly after that - so basically after investing £80 and about three hours of my time my hair looks as straight as when I first walked into the salon (considering that one does not normally go out with wet hair).
I went for a second time and the lady who did my perm was very kind explaining how to recover it. However, even after all her efforts, the effect lasted only 30/40' and went back to straight. I know a perm does not last forever and requires maintenance, but I would expect it to stay at least the rest of the day. When I do it, not being a professional, it barely shows, even though I am trying to follow all the steps and use the right products.
I was neither fully satisfied with the response obtained the second time I went. One would expect the shop to make sure the customer is happy. The lady was not keen to re-perm me, which can be OK since it was less than two weeks after perming (I am travelling), but the main problem is that she basically said that it would cast the same results and her boss would not authorise it to do it without charging again. Neither did she offer a partial refund. My feeling was that the shop was not trying to keep customers happy but just to keep them out of the way. Another surprising detail was that they did not accept cards and refused to give me a proof of payment. In short, with regrets, I would not recommend it.
