We had the couples massage as a birthday treat for my partner. He was fortunate enough to have the more friendlier and considerate lady who kept making sure he was OK and I had the no nonsense, moody lady who only spoke when she wanted me to move a limb or turn over. This made the experience for me not as relaxing as she was quite abrupt and didn't ease up on the massage when I was clearly in pain and letting her know this. I felt like knots were being released but at same time a lot of pain was inflicted on my upper back which lasted for 3 days and I had to take painkillers to sleep. My partner enjoyed his massage (luckily!) and said his lady was good and she listened to him. The hot stones was the best part and was welcome relief from the pain, I wish that lasted longer as it was very soothing.
The gym below smelt stale and sweaty and the men were talking loudly which could easily have ruined the ambiance of the place. It's also difficult to find. Thank God for Google street view.
Final verdict, good value for money and a pleasant experience if you have a friendly massuese who listens to you and makes you feel welcome. I wish I got her name because she was really lovely compared to her colleague.
It is an awkward location, and I had to wait for a bit for a bunch of dudes to pause their workout so I could walk through the gym. But the therapist was quite good. I should have probably asked for less pressure, because my back hurt for a few days afterwards (despite still being knotted)!
Lovely place, with really soothing ambiance. Masseuse knew what they were doing, with the right techniques. The place is a bit of a pain to get to though
