Yesterday I booked a wax session at Thai London Spa at 4:00pm, and I paid online. I got lost and arrived at the Spa at 4:30pm. Thai London Spa decided to cancel my appointment and keep the money because they claimed it as a "no show" when in fact I had called them twice to let them know I was lost and on my way. If I was a no show, then I wouldn't have turned up at the salon.
I told them if they could fit me in another slot and they said they could tomorrow morning.
Later that night I receive a text from they saying they will have to charge me an EXTRA 20 pounds for rescheduling my appointment (on top of the 30 pounds I had already paid online through Treatwell). That was completely absurd and was not mentioned anywhere on their policy. Their customer service was very poor, and their 20 pounds extra fee for rescheduling is just ridiculous.
The thing is she cancelled my appointment without my permission, even though I had called her and told her I was going to be late. I asked her to reschedule my appointment so that my money does not go to waste, she said there was a "rescheduling fee" of 20 pounds. So now, not only did I lose 30 pounds, she tried to get me to pay an extra 20.
The problem with booking through Treatwell is that the salon has total control to take and withhold payment without the client's will which I find wrong because the salon "decided" to cancel my appointment without my consent and to take the money. That is a fault from the app because in that sense, any appointment I pay for online can easily be "cancelled" and my money could be withheld.
