I went in for shellac removal and the lady that did it didn't seem to care about my nails at all. She didn't leave the removal on for long enough so had to scrape very hard which was painful and I have been left with the bottom coat of varnish still on my nails. I would only go back here if Gemma did my nails. She was excellent. Not this other lady.
After coming recently to Splash for a great gel manicure with a red haired lady I was really really disappointed with my most recent gel removal and normal manicure with a black haired lady. Typically a gel manicure is soaked off per nail with cotton wool and foil but all of my nails were put in a pot of nail varnish remover before the gel was scraped off. This was very drying and sore.
For the file and polish (which I'm aware doesn't include a cuticle soak) the lady really roughly pushed back my cuticles without softening them. As it isn't included it would make more sense to not touch the cuticles rather than treat them so harshly. With the file and polish I had to ask the lady to keep buffing my nails as they were still rough from the gel removal and after the nails had been painted I could still see small areas of my dark gel polish underneath. The polish also went bubbly shortly after leaving.
Overall, I would only come back again if I was reassured it would be the red haired lady doing my manicure as she was so polite and so detailed and thorough.
I had a shellac take off. It was very quick and efficient, even though I had to wait a bit when I went in, as there was no one at the reception. I had the impression that everyone was rushing and in a hurry, but the shellac removal was done very well and it quickly. I also liked the fact that everything was sterile and the girl who did it was wearing gloves.
