I liked the overall experience with Treatwell but I was really disappointed by the services I received at Splash- goodge st. The app is well conceived and the frequent reminders are a plus.
However, my experience with Splash was a disaster.
To start with, I booked waxing for full legs, bikini and underarm. I have been regularly waxing for almost 10 years now, and an appointment for that many parts to be waxed- had never lasted less than 40-45 minutes. The day prior to the appointment, I received a description of the tasks with precise time slots for them to be realised. I was already a bit surprised as it announced the whole appointment will only last 35 minutes total, which seemed a bit short to me given the task at hand. The next day, I was shocked when I realised that from the moment the lady started waxing me to the moment she left the room, only 11 minutes total had passed.
To be fair, the lady didn't make conversation and remained focused but even so, 10 minutes is way to short to complete a 40 minutes job properly. Indeed, I left the salon with patches of hair left on my legs and 2 days later, hair started to grow again. The lady didn't take the time to go over the waxed areas
more than once, so she left a lot behind. Plus, to maintain speed she had to be extremely energetic so the waxing ended up being unnecessarily painful. I didn't even get a chance to ask her to correct her work since she applied cream and left the room before I had time to check or say anything.
Splash- goodge st. offers a wide range of services (incl. nails, hair cut,...) and it really feels like they added waxing to the list just to maximize their revenue. They don't have proper installation and the space dedicated to waxing is cramped up downstairs in a corner.The room itself was so small, that the lady couldn't even move around the table.
I feel so cheated. I paid more than £60 and I would have done a better job myself at home. Going to this salon, I really felt used. They took my money and barely completed the services I paid for. Waxing is expensive so you'd expect salons to take better care of their clients.
It's a shame because I really wanted to find a salon to come back to regularly, and I had good hopes since a friend recommended Splash- goodge st. to me. Never will I go back there, and I really do not recommend going there for their waxing services.
