The Spa at Kensington Leisure Centre is a great place to relax. I had a facial and massage which felt professional and the staff were friendly and attentive. Providing a towel, flip flops and robe was a great touch (for people who have treatments). I thought it had a swimming pool from the online description but that wasn't the case which was a shame. There are pools in the leisure centre itself so you might be able to walk across to them. Otherwise the facilities were spot on.
The spa experience at Kensington Leisure Centre was lovely, we went on a Tuesday so it was quite empty which meant that we had the hydrotherapy pool to ourselves, which was SO nice. The staff were lovely and gave us a bag that had a towel, robe and flip flops in so we didn't need to bring our own. The treatment was a Lime and Orange Salt Glow exfoliation which was enjoyable but was over quite quickly. My skin felt so smooth afterwards :)
I've now been to the Spa several times. The rooms and therapists are lovely. The treatments are excellent. But the music has been awful on every visit. I usually like soothing, ambient background music during a massage. But this
is loud, depressing and sets my teeth on edge! I've had to ask for it to be switched off every time. The sounds really need a re-think!
We were pleasantly surprised to turn up and see the leisure centre is newly refurbished and very clean. The staff at reception and the spa were absolutely lovely and were all very helpful. The changing rooms were huge with plenty of lockers (you need an old style £1 coin!) with plenty of showers for after the spa. With regards to the spa facilities there is everything you need and they were beyond clean. My only disappointment with regards to the facilities is the relaxation room has a door in the top right corner. This seems to be the main door for the staff and men to enter from their changing room which is normally fine but when you are trying to relax and all you can hear is a 4 digit pin being entered then the door slamming it's not amazing! I opted for the facial and a deep tissue massage and both were lovely, I was disspointed with the fact the lady didn't ask me how the pressure was, at one point I thought I was going to have to tap out but I suppose that's what you should expect with a deep tissue massage. The facial was amazing and I highly recommend this treatment. Again slight disappointment when my treatment was due to last an hour in total and I was back in the relaxation room after 40 minutes, having got un-dressed, dressed and had a chat about my skin - the treatments clearly aren't allocated the full designated time.
Overall the spa is very clean, well facilitated and with very friendly staff. I would just recommend ensuring you get your money's worth with the times of the treatment.
