Robes smelt of chip fat as did the towels in room. Foot was ok meat was exteeamly tough and mash was instant mash. Reception staff were lovely bar staff great spa staff ok. The breakfast staff were rude and not very helpful. The room had dead flys and lady bugs on window sill and the coffee cups needed washing before we could use them. The bedding was fresh and clean but the bedroom itselve was too hot to sleep

The hotel and grounds were beautiful and our room was very nice and spacious. The food was very nice that we had for lunch, dinner and breakfast. The girls in the spa were friendly and I enjoyed a pleasant massage.
Now to the negatives..which unfortunately ruined our weekend break.
The staff (majority) are the most rude and obnoxious people I've met! How on earth they hold down jobs there with the attitudes that they have amazes me! Other issues we had was that there was no drinking water provision in the pool area and you had to track back upstairs through a gym and into the treatment area to get a drink. I don't think this is acceptable since you are told to keep hydrated when using the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and pool...
We had several lights not working in the room and also found the glass bathroom door a little off putting..
The lift is confusing, some basic signage in the lift as to what is on which floor would be most useful!
We most certainly won't be returning there again, which is such a shame.

Overall my wife and I had a pleasant stay. The facilities are good, and the spa was very quiet, but a couple of things mean a lower star rating than we would otherwise have given. Firstly, there wasn't much space to sit by the pool - only 4/5 beds - all taken when we arrived - and no chairs. Secondly, and far more importantly, the jacuzzi was out of operation. The sign said "cleaning in progress", and some people were ignoring it and getting in anyway. I'm glad we didn't, because later, the staff told us that it was effectively an acid bath after someone had left the chlorine tap on overnight and they were trying to get the levels down! What amazed me was that no one thought to put a "Danger - No Entry" sign up. When I raised this with the staff , they compromised by adding an "out of order" sign to the "cleaning in progress" one. Interestingly, the staff hadn't thought to mention this to us, either when we checked in at hotel reception, or when we signed into the spa.
