It's not the most glamorous of places but what it lacks in sparkling marble floors it more than makes up for in service. I had my first ever relaxer which I was pretty apprehensive about but Oby was reassuring and friendly and did an excellent job. I absolutely loved the accompanying cut and she spent the time to make sure the finish was just right. I got the impression that she was genuinely passionate about her work and cared about the end result and I will 100% be going back!

My experience of the salon was really nice, Alicia was very friendly and did a great job in trimming my hair and giving me hair advice. She even styled it and out it into a lovely twisted bun at the end.

I had a half head of highlights done and it was excellent. Obi very professional and take her time to make sure that everything is done to perfection. Customer service is excellent, she is very friendly and gives very useful advice. Would definitely recommend salon

I rarely leave reviews but I felt it was important on this occasion. I was dubious about going to Alicia's after looking at the salons and their services in the Barking area. Nevertheless I went for my appointment with Obi and was pleasantly surprised to find despite the setup the décor and ambience was clean, quiet and professional looking especially in comparison to the other local salons I have visited. Arriving for my appointment Obi was ready for me and had not double or triple booked me, I was the only client and she was fully available and ready for my appointment. Straight away Obi was friendly warm and consulted with me about my hair routine, products and what style I wanted etc. I had a deep conditioning treatment on my permed hair and a human hair wig made. Obi used salon quality products (I know this because I buy them myself and they are not usually found in the afro hair shops). I could definitely tell the difference, my hair felt softer and moisturised. Obi took her time and care making the wig for me she also really wanted to ensure that I was happy with the styling and the overall look of the wig, which I was. She checked with me multiple times and encouraged my opinion of what I liked, didn't like and wanted to change. Which she did happily. Overall I would say give this salon a try and don't judge a book by it's cover as I initially did. You will be pleasantly surprised to find a hair styling professional that will make you feel very comfortable, cares about your salon experience, encourages the health of your real hair and genuinely wants you to leave with a style and hair service that you are happy and satisfied with. Give Alicia's a go !
