A lovely team at this salon. This is my 4 visit thanks to wahanda....my hair is lovely & I'm so pleased I got tea & biscuits on arrival - was wet & cold day - All in all after looking for a good hairdressers I have finally found mine
I very rarely write reviews or complain, but I will this time because I was so unhappy with my hair colour. I went in for a full head of highlights and a cut. The colourist began applying the colour, and made a comment or two about the thickness of my hair. I have thick hair, yes, it certainly is thick, but not unusually so. I really do not believe it's the thickest hair the colourist has seen throughout her career. Several times during the colour, the lady commented on the thickness to the point where it made me uncomfortable and a burden. She clearly wanted to get off home (totally fair enough), but completely rushed the colouring, clocking off and leaving someone else to judge when the foils should come off and to do the cut. I didn't have a problem with this at all, everyone wants to finish work on time. But her approach was, in my view, entirely unprofessional and brazenly rushed. Throughout the experience, the staff chatted across the salon about a colleague and rota issues, people/a child/a dog dropped in and out and staff snacked. It just wasn't the salon experience I enjoy, nor one that fills me with confidence in the cleanliness and professionalism of its staff. To his credit, a gentleman hairdresser kept checking if I wanted a drink and was alright, and he cut my hair nicely. He really was a very nice person with excellent customer service. Ok, it did take longer than your average haircut, but he went to great lengths to make me feel comfortable. But to be honest, having been told countless times how thick my hair was, which clearly annoyed the colourist, I needed a bit of reassurance! When he blew dry my hair, I was totally aware that he had stayed later than the salon's opening hours and was keen to leave. And to be honest so was I. It was only when I got home and looked at it properly that I realised how unhappy I was with the colour. It was so blonde and brassy, it looked grey. The colour aged me significantly (I'm in my 20s) and was unbearably bright and looked cheap. The worst thing though was how uneven the application was. I promptly went to my usual hairdresser the next day, who applied a toner to try and bring the colour down. As she applied it, she gasped at how uneven the colour application was. There were very thin coloured strips, flanked by large chunks where the lady had rushed things to get home. It was incredible how you could track the proximity of the application to clocking off time; the final parts were big, bulky strips. I really do understand how frustrating it is when you're at work and your last job is a long one. I had no issue with the colourist handing over to someone else, but I don't think it's acceptable to rush hair colour to the point of uneven application. While the gentleman working at the salon went out of his way to check I had all the drinks I wanted, the general atmosphere wasn't professional at all, with the colourist turning around every few minutes to carry on discussing salon issues with colleagues, a dog in the salon, magazines strewn over the table and food being consumed. I should have trusted my gut instinct when I walked in, because I've ended up paying to have the colour fixed and a hairstyle I didn't want. A lesson to be learnt.
It was ok, I liked my hair, the only things I have to say is that I had to pay 10 pounds more by long hair so it's a bit expensive, anyway I liked it
The staff were really helpful, had good advice and clearly knew what they were doing. Really happy with the result and will definitely be going there again. I've ready started recommending it to my friends.
I had a half head of foils and it is the best colour I have every had!! Im so happy :)
