As someone who has had a couple of bad waxing experiences I was naturally apprehensive, but thought I'd try chic touch having seen some good reviews on here.
Upon arrival, the manager told me I'd be waiting 5-10 mins as the waxer was busy. No apology. When I glared at him after ten mins he offered an apology. After 25 mins I stated that I had to get home and was it going to happen any time soon. He oh so generously offered me two stamps on a loyalty card, as if I'd be rushing to go back.
When I was eventually seen, the waxer was a v nice lady. She made me laugh and helped me to relax slightly. Unfortunately, her waxing skills were not on par with her personality.
Firstly, she left bits of purple wax on my landing strip and when I asked her to remove them she said they would come off in the shower. Ignoring the fact that you can't have a hot shower straight after a wax, I ended up having to cut them out as showering did not help.
After leaving the salon I had a very very red and angry looking vagina. Fair enough, I thought, this is normal. After 48 hours, lots of sudocrem, and lots of intense pain, I was thinking, hmm, perhaps I'm allergic to the wax.
Not so. The area remained red and then began to peel! This suggests that I was burnt by the wax. It was mortifying as I was on holiday at the time. I also have developed dry skin/little bumps (like molluscum) in the area which I have NEVER had before - suggesting another crappy side effect of the wax and a lack of hygiene at the salon.
To top it all off, now that the area is vaguely starting to return to my normal pasty colour, I can see that the waxer left patches of hair.

The staff is super friendly and the place is clean and modern. They are offering great prices at the moment as they have reopen and offer a loyalty card should you return, which I would definitively be doing.
The lady that did my waxing, Siu, was very thorough and happy to re do areas that I felt could be improved. Great experience!

I had a fantastic experience at Chic Touch - everyone is super nice and attentive. They understood exactly what I wanted and I got a great haircut and highlights. Would definitely recommend!
