This was my first visit to Chic Touch and it was great overall. My therapist was lovely and so I felt very comfortable. She took care with my wax and the results more than met my expectations. My only niggle was the ambience, the room is just part of the hair salon, not tucked away and so it's not quite as relaxing as I would like.
Great waxing!
I would like to start by saying that I usually go to Tila's Studio in West Hampstead, but having moved to a new neighborhood, I wanted to find a place closer to home. I did my research on Treatwell and chose to book a last minute appointment at Chic Touch for a haircut with deep conditioning and a balayage, paying £114 online. Let's say that the haircut was decent, although I did say at least 3 times that I wanted an asymmetrical bob and ended up with a same length cut which is also a bit uneven on the sides, but fine... I can live with it. The "balayage" on the other hand...It all seemed to start ok, the hair stylist was very friendly and asked me to show her pictures, I told her that I did not want anything major just a refresh of my balayage( done at Tila's for 1 year), something natural and cool toned if possible. She seemed to know what she was doing hand painting the highlights so I was really looking forward to the end result. Long story short I ended up with a full yellow head( part orange in the back) which she tried to tone down with what seemed a dye, not a toner( extra £15 charge). She then tried to curl my hair multiple times with no success; my hair was so fried, so dry, so frizzy that it would not hold a curl( it’s usually very easy for me to curl my hair). They kept saying that the colour was gorgeous and asking if I was happy, and I said yes... to be honest I was just not brave enough to say that I was not happy with the results after being there for 4 hours. When I went back home I could clearly see that the "balayage" had been applied in a straight line( not even an Ombre is done so bluntly) with lots of orange notes left throughout my hair and lots of blotchiness. There was no dimension, no variation, nothing in what makes a balayage beautiful. Just a yellow head with roots. I ended up coloring my hair at home to try and save what looked like an amateur's job. I had high hopes and really wanted to have found a hair place close to home, but I would rather travel for 4 hours than come back here. If you want a basic cut or color, then fine, book it. But if you want a balayage, avoid at all costs, the end result has nothing to do with the pictures that they put on Facebook and Instagram, and to claim that the last minute price of £85 for a balayage is in fact reduced from £175 is just outrageous.
Masa did my full leg and bikini line waxing. I am extremely satisfied from the results and felt no pain
I was greeted politely on entering Chic Touch and all the staff I encountered were extremely friendly and welcoming throughout. The salon is open into the evening which is great for those who only have spare time outside of typical working hours. My treatment was carried out professionally and I was made to feel very comfortable - would definitely recommend!
