Everyone was really lovely and friendly. My hairdresser spent a long time asking me what I wanted and then checking/talking me through to make sure I was happy with length and layers etc. I was really pleased with my haircut and experience as a whole:
Picked this place as it looked a nice enough salon from passing it on a daily basis near my home, and the offer was good value. Had a nice head massage from the girl washing my hair but then when I was taken to the chair, I was told the hairdresser couldn't speak English, and so a lady stood next to me throughout translating. Before we even got started, they said my hair was thinning and showed me a treatment that would reduce this problem in one month by showing me before and after pictures of balding people on his phone! I first thought they meant I had thin hair (fine) but when he showed me the pictures I couldn't believe it. They also tried to sell me a permanent straightening treatment. I asked for my hair to be dried wavy and asked for GHDs as they are so quick, just presuming they would be available, they then said it would normally cost more to do so and said they would do it as it was not busy, so that was nice of them to do so, even though it was grudgingly. This is why I probably will not use Wahanda again, as they just try and sell you other services to make more money, making it an uncomfortable experience all round.
I asked to keep my hair as long as possible, but came away with about 4 inches taken off. The cut was good, and the salon looked clean, but I think next time I'd rather pay a bit more and get what I ask for.
