The whole visit was a bit of a shambles.
It began with me being called up and them changing my appointment time by 15 mins by simply saying “can you come at 6, not 5.45” as an instruction, not a request or dialogue.
I went at 6, the door locked even though the reception desk was manned. I was sent downstairs to wait in the empty shop. I waited 5 minutes and the manicurist sat down and without any chat she just got straight on.
Over the course of the appointment I felt mostly awkward. There was very little small talk and although the manicurist was very sweet and asked the odd question, when I answered it was usually the end of the conversation.
5 min in to the appointment she asked if I’d been before and realising I hadn’t went to get a disclaimer to sign. She asked me to sign the form and fill it in at the end of the appointment. During all this I can hear the person upstairs watching clips on the internet loudly.
Service aside the treatment itself was poor. A gents manicure is advertised at 40mins and we were done after 20mins. A simple file and cuticle treatment (a couple of the cuticles weren’t done properly when I inspected later), she put hand cream on but there was no soaking, no real hand massage and I wasn’t offered even a buff to a shine, or matt/clear polish as would be normal.
The whole thing felt rushed, awkward and like I wasn’t supposed to be there. I’d booked as a little birthday treat to myself on the day but I would have been upset with the service even if it wasn’t a special occasion. I went to the dentist that morning and got a better service and had a more enjoyable experience.
On the way out the person on reception didn’t speak until she asked if I’d pre-paid, and when I said yes she just said “ok” like that was all she needed to know. As I turned around to leave she asked “was everything ok with the treatment today?” And I just said yes because I didn’t have time to go through the whole issue (as they’d moved the appointment I was tight for time to go to the theatre).
The people who served me were very nice on a personal level. The impression I got was just that they were badly trained and too focused on the salon and what was good for them rather than the experience for me as a customer. I wouldn’t go back.
Absolutely horrible. I have not tried other treatments but eyelash extensions is definitely not their forte. left the place with wonky lashes. Absolutely gutted. I am sure I am not the only one who feels like this.
