I had hair nearly to my waist and wanted it cut short. I showed photos of shoulder length and chin length cuts, similar in style. I asked to have it cut to shoulder length first, which he said he would do, then proceeded to cut the ponytail off well above my shoulders. He then told me he loves transformations. The cut itself was not like the photo at all and has an odd mushroom shape at the back that will take months to grow out since he used the shaver. Hair grows back, but if you can't listen to your clients' needs vs your own desire to do a 'transformation', what are you doing in this career?
