BEng Medical Engineering, Level 3 VTCT Beauty, Skincare & Facials 💆🏼♀️ Meet Emma, SE1 Medical Aesthetics clinic founder, owner, Managing Director, Practitioner & wife of Dr Lorenzo. Emma graduated in Medical Engineering at Cardiff University in 2006. Her studies combined mechanical engineering principles and anatomy dissection. This gave her a thorough understanding of the anatomy and biomechanics of the human body and a deep knowledge of biomaterials which then led on to her highly successful 17-year career in Orthopaedic Medical Sales Management. Emma worked for 3 global orthopaedic companies over those years, achieving unprecedented outcomes in sales, marketing, education & event management, finally becoming a Regional Manager. Emma's passion for customer care, healthcare, her outstanding interpersonal skills and her experiences as a child suffering with severe ezcema, led her to consider a career change into aesthetics and skincare. Since completely retraining (whilst running the clinic and looking after her toddler & Lorenzo!) she hasn't looked back. OSI MD PGDip (Aesthetic & Wellness Medicine) FRCS EBHS Diploma in Hand Surgery Lorenzo has been voted in the top 7 best Consultant Surgeons in the UK working in the medical aesthetics industry in 2023. Lorenzo is a highly specialised, internationally renowned Consultant Surgeon working also in the NHS at Guy's & St Thomas' and Evelina Children's Hospital in London. He qualified in medicine & surgery in Bologna (Italy) in 2002. In 2022, Lorenzo has been awarded the Knighthood of the Order of the Star of Italy (OSI) in recognition of his international career in surgery and his coordination of a task-force of doctors working voluntarily throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Besides his surgical career Lorenzo also completed a 4 year, level 7 Aesthetic & Wellness Medicine Postgraduate Diploma all at the same time as qualifying as a surgeon! He also obtained the European Board of Hand Surgery (EBHS) Diploma and is a Member of the EBHS Examination Committee. Lorenzo is a Scientific Director and Anatomical Director for SEASON (Science Enhanced Anatomy Safety Outcomes Network) a non-commercialised scientific exchange that has the mission of advancing procedural safety and outcomes in aesthetic medicine, identifying unmet needs in research and development, and fostering responsible media reporting in aesthetics. Lorenzo's regular activities include supervision of and teaching to Specialist Trainees, Fellows and medical students. He is Honorary Reader (Associate Professor) at the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine, King's College London and the President of the Italian Medical Society of Great Britain (IMSoGB). Lorenzo is a regularly invited speaker at national and international events and has published numerous articles and book chapters on his research, including original treatment techniques for increased patient safety and improved outcomes that have been recognised and adopted internationally. Lorenzo is the Medical Director of SE1 Medical Aesthetics and it is his mission to ensure the clinic upholds the highest standards in non-surgical cosmetic procedures. This includes providing a doctor led service in a 5-star clinical environment. Lorenzo is registered with the JCCP (Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners) and the BCAM (British College of Aesthetic Medicine) that set the standards to assure public safety. It is extremely important to Lorenzo that SE1 patients have a unique and best in the industry experience, tailored to each individual. He is an excellent communicator and strives to look after his patients addressing all their concerns and helping them achieve their aesthetic goals.
