I attended with friends on 16th October 2015. The treatment (facial and massage) was professionally delivered but there were some significant issues with the general organisation of the experience and layout of the facilities which made the overall experience very poor.

We attended for a treatment and use of the pool etc - the pool/gym complex appears to be managed by a different company (Living Well). This meant that the experience was not joined up as there is clearly no communication beween the two facilities. Our friends who arrived later while we were having treatments were not told to go to the pool first as we had asked, so wasted an hour in the waiting room at Escape. The worst part was having to walk from the treatment room at Escape to the Living Well complex through hotel reception in our dressing gowns, no make up, hair all over the place!!!! Totally inappropriate!!!! Signage was poor and we were almost at the Mediterranean Restaurant before we realised we had come too far and had to ask where the pool was. This is just not acceptable.

The treatment room was a double that I had to share with my friend, there was no single option and this had not been made clear on booking. It was not private and not relaxing as the therapist discussing treatment with my friend was distracting and I could not relax, also there were workmen walking past the room and talking. It all felt very public and made a mockery of the relaxing music that was being played in the room! As it was clearly a hotel bedroom that was being used as a therapy room I don't understand why two rooms could not be made available. This would be more efficient as it would mean that if there were strangers booked in at the same time, they could both be treated - as it is, only one at a time could be treated unless the ladies are friends, as we were. I asked to go to the loo after my treatment and was directed - in my dressing gown - to a public hotel toilet. There was only one cubicle and a queue so I had to walk down to another public hotel toilet down the corridor. Why is there not a private toilet facility at Escape?

The Living Well complex was ok but the Jacuzzi was not working which was disappointing.

The poor facilities and layout mean I would not return; the issues I have described need serious attention by management and could so easily be addressed with minor adjustments and a customer focussed ethos that was so clearly missing.

In contrast, the Mediterranean Restaurant where we had our afternoon tea was superb; staff could not have been more helpful, the food was superb and we were able to spend a relaxing two hours here without being rushed.

I first found out about their treatments via a Groupon offer over a year ago and have been going back to the Hilton for treatments ever since. I always have the facial and back massage which lasts for 1 hour. I have been to a number of other places over the years (some well known ones!) and I can honestly say this is one of the best facials and back massages I have ever had. I have not used any of their other facilities. The staff are friendly and the treatment rooms are clean, warm and spacious. The hotel may be a bit dated however I do not think that is an issue. The staff in the restaurant are generally warm and friendly.

I have been to other spas where they made you feel really special for the day - from the first greeting to the very end and you were able to wander around in your gown the whole day. unfortunately I cannot say the same about Cobham Hilton. I think this is because the facilities are not dedicated spa facilitates but are part of the hotel. We had 2 treatments - the facial was lovely, the massage was quite poor. Lunch was also quite nice, members of staff were pleasant.

The staff were wonderful but the horrendous noise from somewhere in the building meant that the whole experience of peace and quiet was shattered..it certainly wasn't relaxing.Sounded like removal men dragging heavy furniture across the floors. The staff left the room to investigate mid way through the facial but couldn't resolve the problem.. aagh !! shame.
