Can't rate Rita more highly for waxing - I've been going there for months now for bikini and half leg and i have never had anyone so thorough. She always goes above and beyond - I also had an excellent pedicure from her once. While it is in a strange location, for me the quality of the treatments completely makes up for that and I have never felt rushed.
The location is a bit weird - at the ground floor of an office building, but Rita is amazing and patient!
I had a wax at Rock Chick Beauty this week and am delighted with the results. Rita is a wonderful beauty therapist who makes you feel very at ease. I have recommended her to all my friends as I have had various treatments with her from facials to pedicures and the results are always top notch.
Rita was very friendly and welcoming, and I think she did a good job on my facial. It was my first time having extraction and I found it very painful and I left looking a bit blotchy rather than glowing – but I gather that's to be expected! The room was divided in two – someone was having her nails finished off when I went in, so I was just behind a screen, which was a bit odd, but it was still good value and I would go back.
While I am usually one to hesitate to write a bad review, there is not one good thing I can say about my experience here. I booked an “Aromatherapy or Swedish massage” and was not asked when I arrived which I would prefer. The massage just began. Like others have said on here, it is not really a beauty clinic, more of an office meeting room crammed with beauty equipment. While this may be ok to get your nails done, it is not a comfortable environment to take of your clothes and have a massage. The artificial lights in the meeting room were bright and there was no sense of relaxation. Although you wear a robe for the whole procedure I felt very uncomfortable and exposed. I was grateful no one else was there getting a nail treatment as we would have been in very close proximity to each other. Furthermore, the massage table is visible from the office reception as there is a window in the door! The massage therapist did not wash her hands. She spent most time on my legs and my feet and then went straight to rubbing oil on my face! To say it is a “massage” would be exaggerating as most of the procedure was just rubbing. Further more she kept stopping in the middle of the massage as if distracted by something else in the room. This was very odd! When asked, I told her I’d like her to concentrate on my shoulders and back, as these were my main tension areas. She then spent the last five minutes of the hour rubbing ONE of my shoulders and my lower back. Also, as the room is so crammed the therapist can only massage from one side of the table, which means you must work with her and hold up your arms at some point for her. Not relaxing at all and I would seriously question her training. From reading the other reviews I think this place may be better for nail treatments but I will not be returning as it was not an enjoyable experience and not at all what I paid for.
