I have been coming here for over two years and am usually very happy with the service. However, today I had what was possibly the worst Hollywood wax both in terms of experience and result. Firstly, I noticed that the wax about to be used on me hadn’t been freshly replenished - given the “double dipping” of the wooden spatula into the wax, was this wax contaminated with whoever had previously been in that room? The machine was full when I left the room - again, I would question whether it would be emptied and replenished before the next customer
Secondly, the technician did not wear rubber gloves. This is the first time I’ve received a wax where the beautician wasn’t wearing gloves. Again, my hope is that hands are washed between all treatments.
Thirdly, this was the most painful wax I have ever received. 1. Wax pulled off very slowly. 2. Skin wasn’t stretched meaning that bits of waxed couldn’t be pulled out in one go. 3. Toward the end the wax was burning. Temperature wasn’t lowered despite me having voiced this a few times.
My final point is that I don’t have a smooth finish. I would put this down to the technician’/ technique with pulling out the wax however I can feel that a lot of my hairs have been ripped, rather than completely pulled out. I currently have a lot of stubble.
Unfortunate as I have previously always had very good experiences here. However, there is high staff turn over so you can’t guarantee that the person you had during one treatment will be there for your second.
