I was pretty upset by this experience. My fault for not hearing the warning bells the first time I went in for a 3/4 leg wax and the 'therapist' starting mid thigh and going higher. I questioned and with much huffing and puffing she completed what I actually wanted. I laughed it off. But then this visit happened...
I had booked Tina, not that she had ever introduced herself but I guessed it was the younger person who had been not-terrible before, unlike her mother - above. This time I got the mum again. But I was too embarrassed to say anything so followed her into the room.
'Where shall I go?' she asked. I thought the 3/4 wax was pretty self evident but still I pointed to mid thigh and said from here down. Once again the wax was sloshed all over my upper thigh, bikini line area (near new knickers), and backside. 'I didn't ask for this' I protested as she started yanking... Yes you did she said and carried on. The reason I only have 3/4 is I have very fair and easily bruised skin and it's not necessary to wax there as the few hairs are invisible. The back of my thighs and lower legs are another story. So she finishes and says she is done. 'Are you going to do the rest?' I asked. 'What you mean? I finished?' - er, on what freaking planet does someone pay over £20 to have a hairless, sensitive area waxed and leave the lower part hairy?
'You should ask for full leg, 3/4 is upper thigh only, it is larger area - you also should have stopped me'. I mean wt absolute f???
This woman is still holding hot wax so I try a conciliatory approach 'Look, I'm sorry if I booked the wrong thing but I'd really like the rest done.'
So, with grumbles and muttering she does a crappy job on the rest of my legs.
I use facebook to check with friends in the beauty industry that I was indeed, correct, and that 3/4 means thigh down. OF COURSE IT FREAKING DOES.
I show her, explain that as it's local I'd prefer to remain a customer. At no point does she even acknowledge that I was correct, instead pointing out that she 'eventually' did what I asked for.
A few weeks on (not got around to typing this up) and I have lumpy ingrowing hairs on my upper thighs and bruises that eventually faded. I have random tufts of hair on my lower legs and the more I recall the event the more angry I get.
Do not, for the love of anything holy, go to this salon.
I wrote to Treatwell to complain and they said I should take it up with them as I'd had the treatment. Basically, I'm writing this to at least get a fiver from them as they were useless otherwise.
