Although my haircut was good for a reasonable price, I warn everybody who's never stepped into a Colour Bar that the smell of chemicals is extremely strong and might give you massive headaches.
My hairdresser was rude and not very friendly and didn't offer me a drink or anything, despite other customers having being offered. I felt rushed and I actually felt that I was annoying them more than anything, which is never really good when your face depends on it.
I would recommend only if you're on a budget and looking for a quick appointment, but don't go for the atmosphere.
My haircut was great and I left the salon feeling very pleased with it. However, the clients were treated a little like cattle and herded between staff as they had their colours done. There was no offer of a drink or magazines, and the experience just felt a little impersonal.
I happen to be blessed/cursed with super thick and long hair. I was seen by Tatiana (forgive me if I got the name wrong) for a colour transformation balayage, who was very patient and considerate throughout, it took a long time due to the vast amount of hair I have, and the fact my hair used to be red and I wanted to go blonde. It was followed by a cut and blowdry from the manager of the salon who took over as my appointment ran over by miles. All of the staff who took care of me today were extremely kind, lovely, friendly and helpful, throughout the 6 hours it took to rectify my hair. It was my first time at this salon or indeed any salon in the last 4 years and I’m very very happy with the results. Thank you so much!
I didn't realise that the salon really was set up sort of like a bar. Unfortunately I did feel that the stylist was a little rough when combing and washing my hair. The colouring itself looks really nice though. Handy to drop in if you don't mind not being as pampered as you would in a salon. Apparently you have to book the blow dry separately as it isn't included in the colour package.
