I came to the salon after reading great reviews on Treatwell and it being convenient from where I live. Arrived at the lovely little salon, very stylish. My appointment was running over a bit but was offered a drink whilst I waited which was nice. However, once I was called into the room for the wax it wasn’t a very calming atmosphere. The room was very cramped and the bed still had the previous clients paper sheet on it.
I was not offered privacy or a pre wax wipe whilst I prepared for the wax.
The Hollywood wax itself was extremely painful, which I am not used to being a regular waxer. There was very little communication between myself and the therapist, she did at one stage, midway through the wax, ask what style of wax I was having. This is something that should have been communicated at the beginning.
The pressure the therapist was using was also incredibly painful, I bought it up on several occasions however nothing changed. I understand that every therapist has their own way of doing the procedure however this wax was very different to any I have had a multiple different establishments, it felt as if the therapist was not confident in this wax.
Upon leaving I did mention the pain to the lovely lady at the desk and was apologised to and given additional loyalty stamps which I appreciated. However once I returned home I noticed that I had been burnt in several areas which obviously I was not too impressed with and it is still incredibly painful and tender today (the day after) which is not normal after previous waxes.
Although I wouldn’t recommend this salon for waxing, this experience won’t stop me returning in the future for other treatments such as manicures/pedicures.
