Sorry in advance for this lengthy review! The Painted Lady is a very compact and chic venue which offers vegan gel nails that I so eagerly wanted to try, and definitely recommend, but the venue and service were underwhelming. As a new mum I called beforehand to ask whether it was “baby friendly” as I was bringing my under 1 in a pushchair. The person who answered quickly rebutted “Yeah, it’s fine” but I didn’t get the impression that my query was really carefully considered. On arrival there were awkward looks between the staff as if they weren’t expecting I was coming with a small child. There was even a slight hesitation to even open the door. Nail services are carried out downstairs and even the most compact pushchair couldn’t fit through the poky hallway which led to the poky staircase. This was really suprising to me because had I known this beforehand, I certainly would not have booked this venue.
Time stood still whilst trying to work out a solution to how I can have my nails done without have to wake up my infant. Unfortunately for my sleepy child, I had to awkwardly shuffle downstairs into a cramped, makeshift ‘nail salon’. It was my mistake thinking that I booked a luxury experience, because it definitely wasn’t! I LOVED my nails, just disappointed with the ‘no frills’ process I wasn’t prepared for. AlI things considered, I would not return here. This would be an ideal venue for those that don’t need to be accommodated in the way I asked, and are not fussed about genuine and helpful customer care. The nail lady was pleasant but a bit frosty. Hopefully your experience is better than mine at The Painted Lady! Xx
