Lovely Therapist, did a wonderful manicure, very detailed and made my nails look lovely. It was a nice experience and I will definitely go there again for a manicure or pedicure.
The salon is bright, clean and modern. There is a great supply of current magazines to read whilst having your hair done and popcorn to munch on which is a good touch. The service was friendly, chatty and fast (my stylist was Alex). I had a half head highlights, cut and blowdry, overall I thought for the price it was great for a quick pick me up and to freshen up my look.
Martina did my half head of highlights and cut She was excellent and took the time to really understand what I wanted. I was really impressed with the result. I liked the complimentary popcorn. I wasn't offered any wine, which other reviews mentioned. I liked the products Martina used on my hair and I went to buy them at a later date. Martina had had worked all day and didn't get a lunch break till just before I arrived at 5pm, she mentioned this twice and I was left feeling guilty for being there although I don't think this was intentional.
I turned up and was told that I would not be getting the 'full head of highlights' which I had paid for (£75) but instead they would be dispersed throughout my hair because it would 'look better'. I know that my hair is thick and that I had previously dyed it and so would need toner, but I had paid for the highlights and that is what I was expecting/hoping for. I did go along with what the hairdresser was saying though, I didn't feel as though I could argue with him. The haircut took about 5 or 6 minutes, it was just a trim but I felt as though it was very rushed. The offer of orange juice was nice, as was the popcorn, the lady washing my hair was very patient. I don't know whether I would do a voucher again as the I felt as though I was rushed through the appointment. I didn't get what I wanted, getting your haircut is so expensive, and I didn't feel that great after it.
Stage Door is a salon that strives to make your hair treatment a relaxing and really pleasant experience. I walked in the door and was offered cold juices, water etc - which on a hot day was really needed. All the staff were really friendly. I then met my hairdresser, Martina, who was amazing. She spent a lot of time consulting me about my hair (which needed a lot of TLC to be honest). She put three colours through my hair and spent ages getting beautiful fine highlights. She is chatty and fun throughout. I was offered a glass of wine - what a great way to start a weekend!! and then got a great cut. I had a really stressful week but Martina and the staff at Stage Door more than made up for it. I would definitely recommend it. My hair looks 100% better and I have enjoyed finding an honest and talented hairdresser too.
