I walked in quite nervous because there aren’t many places that can do an amazing job on thick frizzy Asian hair like mine, and I was correct, they didn’t do an amazing job.. to begin with my highlights were a bit too chunky, kind of like the styles every 90s kid dreamt of in the 00s.. the hairdresser took about almost a quarter of my hair to cut my bangs which resulted in them being too thick and now puffs up and bulges out..
the hairdresser I had(whom I don’t remember the name, I’m just horrible with names I’m sorry) was a bit less vocal about the job than the staff next to us. I’d see other staff asking whether if this cut was good, shorter or not, if the temperature of the water was fine, etc. I on the other hand wasn’t asked any of these questions so the friendly encounter wasn’t really there.
All in all I just don’t really think it’s worth as much money as it charges, this was my first haircut in London by dresser whom doesn’t specify in Asian hair and I think it’s safe to say if you have this type of hair it’s not suited to you.
Sara took time to discuss a style with me and understood what I wanted and explained why she thought certain things would work with my hair. This put me at ease.
And the end result, loved the blow dry and had to organise drinks with friends to show it off, couldn't waste it on a night in!
The salon is quite energetic with loud Spanish pop music which I was in the mood for so was good, but if you prefer a calmer experience consider an alternative.
I recently had a haircut and half-head of highlights. The cut was good and my hair feels great. However, the highlights and use of toner has blended my hair tone into one rather than creating the effect of different shades. Haircut - good. Highlights - I think they need to be informative about what they use as it is more similar to a box dye effect than a highlights effect.
Absolutely lovely staff members and atmosphere. :)
