Decided to try out a new place after paying a £120+ for highlights & cut in the past - turns out you largely get what you pay for. I booked via treatwell for a haircut, conditioning treatment, blow-dry & half head highlights. If I hadn't prepaid I think I would have walked out - the hairdresser was rude and felt like every customer was treated like a transaction rather than the experience and service they had come in for. I asked for some recommendations on my cut & was told only I knew what I wanted and they couldn't advise. First time a hairdresser has not been able to provide some advice. I expected some supplements but my hair has never been classed as extra long (it's on shoulder blades) and this added an extra £15 on the day, along with another £10 which I have no idea where this came from- this all seems a bit subjective and is very misleading. Why is there no information available on Treatwell or on Gusto's own site? All in all I paid an extra £25 on top of the £67 I'd prepaid (for medium length hair). Had I selected extra long hair at the time of booking it would have been £75 all up. When I sat down I was asked what I wanted - to which I said I needed it cut and layered because it is thick and curly. What I got was it cut all one length like a bob, so it looks ridiculous when I wear it out and doesn't sit right. I'm now going to have to visit somewhere else to get some layers added to reduce the bulk! Highlights were fine, just there was no communication or consultation on the colour. It was a warm day but the salon was ridiculously hot (either there's no air con or it wasn't working). Was offered coffee (it tasted terrible)- had to ask for water when i was about to pass out due to the heat. I wouldn't recommend to anyone and will not be going back. Pay attention to the 1* reviews on here and spend your money somewhere else that actually values their customers.
