Honestly one of the best cut/colours I have had in a while. The salon itself isn't particularly impressive, and I had to wait 20 minutes before anyone actually spoke to me after I arrived, but the consultation seemed to be thorough and I felt like my stylist knew what he was doing. The hair washing was interesting - ended up with a fair bit of water on my face, but the cut and colour came out really nicely and the blow-dry looked great. It was exactly what I wanted.
One major problem is the timing - obviously their computer system/Treatwell's system automatically suggests how long your appointment will be. For a full head of highlights, cut, treatment and blow dry I was allocated 2 hours. I knew this was off the mark, but when I left the salon 4 hours after my appointment started I was a little annoyed. Hair looked great though!
What a place! Best value for money salon in London in my opinion, the services are on a par with the very top end at often more that half the price, not to mention the prime location. This was my second visit to Gusto and will no doubt be going back, the stylists are all very attentive and do lovely cuts/colours. One of the stylists also coloured my sisters hair to equally pleasing results. Can't recommended this gem enough!
OK salon (there was hair on the floor that got on my bag and etc) but great staff - attentive and understanding. I was very happy with my cut, highlights and blow dry!
I am new to London and without a salon, so chose this one for it's reviews and reasonable price. I went in on my birthday in hopes of a nice treat and party prep, but was terribly disappointed. The staff were very rude to me from the moment I walked in, making no secrets about their disinterest in providing a nice experience.
The stylist didn't understand what I was asking him to do and didn't seek assistance to help clarify, so I wasn't confident about what was happening through the appointment. I've had my hair colored for years and haven't ever experienced the painful processing of this session. After the burn of the color, the stylist then burned my scalp with a very hot hair dryer. It's still sore. I wouldn't recommend it to any friends.
My hair consultation was very quick and I was told that I could only have one colour (other colours were an added extra). This wasn't written anywhere on the voucher. Weirdly enough, the girl sat next to me who had exactly the same deal was offered other colours and no extra cost was mentioned.
My hairdresser I had was very friendly, but I feel she didn't totally listen to what I wanted. I asked for my fringe to be re-cut and said that I had difficulty styling it. My fringe was never re-cut. I'm relatively happy with the colour but it does look quite brash and unnatural because it's mainly bleach. I told my hairdresser that I have three colours put in, to make it look natural (as my hair is quite dark naturally), but she told me that they didn't have the right colours in stock. It almost seemed that I had no other option and we didn't discuss if there were any other colour choices, other than peroxide bleach. When I woke up this morning my hair felt very dirty and I've noticed that I have a lot of product (I fear it may be bleach) on the underside of my hair towards the back of my head. I realise that it's difficult to time a haircut and colour (especially as my hair is quite thick!) but my appointment took over 4 hours..... rather than the 2.5 that was allocated on the website.
I understand that the deal was incredibly cheap for what the treatment was worth, but I don't think that it should compromise on the overall finished product. I'm sad to say that I won't be going back or recommending this salon to a friend.
