Ockenden Manor Hotel & Spa part of Historic Sussex Hotels

Ockenden Manor Spa, a harmonious blend of modern design and nature's inspiration.

Exceptional facilities in a unique environment. The South's newest and most utopian spa, fed by its own underground spring.

Nestling in the warm green of the West Sussex countryside, Ockenden Manor Spa has been designed to create a haven from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Purpose-built inside a 19th century walled garden, the contemporary airy structure contrasts and complements its neighbour, the Elizabethan Ockenden Manor, and shares it nine acres of parklands and gardens.

For the first time Historic Sussex Hotels have been included in the London Stock Exchanges landmark 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain report. What does this mean? It is a report produced annually to showcase the UKs most inspiring and fast growing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). To be selected for the list, businesses must demonstrate positive growth in revenue over the last four years and also significantly outperform their sector peers. The list, of 1000 companies, includes only two other hotels. Historic Sussex Hotels is one of only 148 companies on the list from the South East.

The spa was brilliant. Having both indoor and outdoor facilities was so wonderful both on the sunny day and the drizzly day. My only criticism would be that it got a bit too uncomfortably hot in the pool area. The hotel room large and very well appointed. The doors out onto the roof garden were a lovely touch and having your own nespresso machine was great too. The dinner was magnificent. Too much food! We definitely fell into a food coma and slept very well.

The treatments, although very good, were very expensive. Even with the £25 off. I would normally go for 2 treatments on such an occasion but even 1 was breaking the budget a little

Ockenden manor is lovely and well worth a visit. The spa is great, clean and with pleasant staff. My only gripes would be having to change back in to clothes to walk to the hotel to check in as you can't get in to the hotel until 2.30 but can use the spa from 12. The sauna had two Wooden seating panels broken off with exposed nails...not great and I would have preferred not to have had children there whilst trying to get away and relax. Other than that, a top notch facility.

There was some confusion over the isopod tank timing which spoiled that experience. However the hotel room was beautiful and clean, and the breakfast was good.

Staff were very welcoming and organised on arrival. We were shown to the changing rooms and a description of the facilities was given.

Treatments were excellent and our therapsists were waiting for us in reception 5 minutes before our treatment time. Massage was excellent and our requested massage type (firm/medium) taken into consideration. Treatment rooms are clean, comfortable and relaxing.

The outside area was pleasant to sit despite it not being a very warm day. Tea and coffee is provided in the spa area to help yourself to and the gowns and flip flops were clean, warm and comfortable.

The pool area could do with a few areas being touched up and painted but apart from that it was immaculate.

The changing area was sweltering. I could not face drying my hair in there! I used the air conditioned toilet instead to apply make up as we were having afternoon tea in the hotel after. This was very quaint and the food delicious.

I would highly recommend the spa and will be returning.

Lovely sunny Friday spent at the spa! Excellent relaxing atmosphere! Free towels and robes for your stay along with infused water and free tea and coffee. The weekends can seem quite busy - they could do with a few more sun loungers inside. Thoroughly recommend to everyone wanting a relaxing stay! Excellent treatment rooms and staff.

Our stay at Ockenden was wonderful and so relaxing...
Staff- apart from the ladies on the desk at the spa during the afternoon of 15/3/16 who were very unprofessional and could not care less, we were extrememly well looked after by the very friendly and polite staff. They went out of their way to accommodate our every request and were very attentive.
Food- apart from the cakes , both at the spa and as part of the afternoon tea, being very boring and plain, the food was fabulous (but pricey) and thoroughly enjoyable.
Bedroom - perfectly comfortable, lovely warm showers, nice toiletries, double aspect.
