I really loved the salon. Let me tell you why. I got an excellent color and an excellent blow dry. But most of all they have the sweetest people working at the salon. They are so nice. It really is a great place to get your hair colored or blow dry.
Not as good as it was before.
This was my second visit to No.1 Hair and Beauty for a 'Luxury Pedicure'.
I go for the luxury option over the regular pedicure because although it's £5 more, I think my feet need to extra steps involved.
However, on this visit, the beautician seemed to miss out a couple of steps that I had when i had the same treatment before. For example, she did not cover my feet in parafin wax and leave them to absorb in plastic socks like the time before.
This pedicure also seemed to be over much quicker than the first time i went, so i think it was pretty rushed.
Was really was disappointing though was that my nail polish was completely smudged by the time i got home, because the nail polish was applied in such thick coats with little drying time in between.
I could see that the nail polish was being painted on too heavy, and when the lady when to apply a top cost, she smudged the polish on my big toe. I dont know if she thought i didnt notice, but instead of removing the polish from that nail and re-applying, she doused on more polish to try to disguise the smudge. Not ideal and when i got home they were all smudged so I had to remove the polish and do them myself. Not exactly what you want when you pay £30 for a pedicure.
Experience was very good, very happy with the results. Not the most luxurious spa but was fine. Only issue was the staff could not speak very good English, but could have basic conversation re: the care of the eyelashes. Wouldn't stop me going back.
The Salon seemed as if it was family run and fairly friendly, although they do talk quite a lot amongst each other in their own language, the surroundings them selves are no frills. I was very happy with my cut and colour it was great value for money and I would come again.
