I went in for a Brazilian wax - I'm very used to this kind of treatment but this particular encounter was quite uncomfortable - not very gentle and lots of hard 'tugging'. Subsequently I was left red raw and sore on one side for a couple of days

Hairdresser Tina became very hostile after I asked if an ashier result was possible. She used my immigrant status against me, told me I shouldnt go to UK salons if I cant communicate correctly (my english is fine, ive worked here for years), and insinuated I was on my period when I broke down and cried which only angered her further. At this point, my partner who I had emergency called told her some of that stuff was straight up discrimination which she dismissed. Terrifying experience overall.
