I decided to go somewhere new because I was tired of showing salons photos of what I wanted and leaving disappointed.
I went for balayage and cut here because their reviews were very good but unfortunately found myself disappointed yet again.
I showed the stylist multiple photos of what a wanted and after discussing with him I felt confident that he understood the style and was able to do it. I made it perfectly clear verbally (as with my photos) that I didn’t want an ombré effect where my roots and ends were so drastically different. I also expressed concern that as my hair is a little fine I did not want my hair to by overly bleached/processed at the ends which was fitting with the photos I showed. I was reassured at this point that with olaplex (for an additional £20) then colour damage would be drastically reduced.
First thing I noticed is that was that backcombing and foils were used which I’ve never had for balayage before but as I’ve been unimpressed in the past I didn’t question it. After my hair was given a curled blow dry I was obviously shocked at how blonde my hair was -particularly at the ends. Whilst it was not awful it was just nothing like what I had asked and if you’re paying £175 that really is the least you should expect.
A week later and I have noticed that without the added curl to my hair from the blow dry my hair really does look to me like ombré with my roots untouched and the ends looking very heavily bleached. My hair is already quite dry and brittle at the ends and I just know that the damage will continue - the one thing I wanted to avoid at all costs as I’m also trying to grow my hair.
Whilst the people and the salon itself is lovely, I am tired and fed up of feeling nothing but disappointment whenever I leave a salon. This is now my 3rd time still without the hair I wanted and it’s only cost me over £600...
The chap who did the treatment in my hair was really passionate about hairdressing. He seemed really knowledgable and did a great job. I will be returning.
