I found this salon online after searching for a vegan nail salon in Leeds...unfortunately the closest to me was wakefield, a good 30 mins drive. But after looking at the reviews and pictures i thought i would give it a try. I was running 5 mins late due to traffic, which was out of my control but did call ahead to let the staff know and apologised profusely. On arrival the staff made my feel awful that I hadn't booked in for a soak off... i again apologised and advised that this was my first time booking at this salon and online so I wasn't sure how the process worked. I did offer to come back another day when they had plenty of time for me...They huffed and puffed at the situation advising me that they were going to be extremely busy that day but would try fit me in around other clients. This made me feel uncomfortable and as though I was an inconvenience to them. When they finally sat me down 15 mins after my arrival they attempted to soak of my previous gel nails. However rather than just letting them soak off the staff kept checking them, which in my opinion and I'm not expert, slowed down the procedure. The pedicure. The salon didnt have toe separators, which made it very awkward for them to properly file down and paint my toe nails. From a distance they didn't look that bad which Is why i didnt mention anything the salon but up close this was evident as my nails are uneven and there was polish down the sides of my toes nails! Next was the manicure. This had to be the worse experience I have ever had. After the foil wraps were removed the staff attempted to remove the residue left from my previous manicure.... I say attempt because the majority of the residue was still left on my nails. They then applied their gel in a bottle solution to my nails. Even though it was visually obvious the residue was still on my nails. One of my nails was extremely short when arrived (i had to pull this off because it was getting caught in my hair) so the salon attempted to create a new nail out of the gel in a bottle solution. They did this by applying a gel nail extension guide/form. To me it felt and looked like a medevil torture device. The device, after reading up on it should only be used if you have a good amount of nail to apply it to, as this helps it sit in place. I didnt have enough nail and it was very obvious I didnt. Dispite telling the staff it was physically hurting and pulling my finger away each time they attempted to ram the device underneath my nail bed they didnt listen. The device was sharp and felt like a razor blade being rammed under my nail. They said that it was my fault for moving that it wasn't sitting correctly and told me to keep still and look away! After many failed attempts using the device they decided to apply a nail tip instead...why this wasn't done in the first place I don't know! Another client entered the salon and this is were I felt very much an inconvenience... the staff member then rushed to finish applying the gel solution so they could rush off to their next client. It looked lumpy and very uneven as they placed my hands into the UV machine.... They did however assure me not to worry and that the nails will be shaped and filled down to sort this out. I was then handed to another staff member to then proceeded to file and shape my nails. This was a disaster. Whilst filing my nails one of the gel overlays actually popped off... this gave me little confidence that these were going to last at all! The staff member then proceeded to file each nail a different shape and size dispite me asking for an almond shape... I have square, round and coffin shape... you name it i have them all! Then came the polish... There are lumps, bumps, bubbles and paint on my fingers... some nails have thin layer to the point where you can see through the polish... they are just a mess and look awful. After the ordeal, which took 3 hours and 30 mins I just wanted to pay and leave. In addition to this, the gems which they didnt know how to apply, popped off within a day... It was an awful experience. I was made to feel an inconvenience and uncomfortable throughout the it and ended up leaving 50 quid out of pocket for what can only describe as a disaster on my fingers and toes. Also... the salon, again this is my opinion, was not busy at all that morning. Including myself there was 2 other clients between the 4x staff members so I'm unsure as to why I was made to feel the way I was at the start of the service. I will not be returning again which is a shame as after seeing the previous good reviews and pictures I'm thoroughly dissapointed.
First visit but won't be the last! So refreshing to be in a totally vegan, cruelty free salon - treatment was great and staff were brilliant!

I have very bad anxiety when it comes to the hairdressers after having quite a few bad experiences of different salons taking way too much off. The salon owner here always does exactly what we discuss and advises me on the best style to suit me. I don’t feel nervous at all trusting her with my hair :)
