Needed to find a new salon due to moving so came to Mai after reading reviews, and came out genuinely surprised that it had so much positive feedback online. It's a nice looking salon at fair prices, but the service wasn't such that I would return. The haircut was just okay and not quite what I had described to my stylist, they use cheap hair products that I found to have an overly sweet, cloying scent that I wasn't a fan of, and I didn't find the staff especially welcoming. The salon was almost totally silent the entire time I was there, none of the usual friendly small talk you'd expect while having someone do your hair for an hour. In fact, the only time my stylist spoke to me was to offer a sales pitch for some of the aforementioned cheap, badly scented styling products. Overall not completely satisfied or impressed, and will be trying elsewhere next time.

I had highlights done by Mollie and was really pleased with the results. I thought she really listened to how I wanted my hair styling and gave me gorgeous waves which are still in 3 days on. I was made to feel welcome and offered drinks and magazines throughout. This is a cute salon, I will definitely be returning :)

Was initially concerned as they were falling behind and didn't seem like they were going to fit me in - they rang me to see if I could come back at an alternate time, which I couldn't due to my schedule. When I arrived, the guy was really going at the girl before me, so I was concerned as to what he would be like with my hair. Never seen a blow dry quite like it before! The end result was quite alright though, I have to admit. The haircut is what I asked for. Even though I waited for about 20 minutes after my appointment, he still finished within the hour. Not the most personable of people to be honest. Didn't ask to take my jacket etc. Some small talk, but need to work on their front of house to put customers at ease or get return custom. I wouldn't go there again. The place is a bit mismatched. No real vibe. I just thought I'd try somewhere new out on the off chance before going out.
