I went for an hour long couples massage yesterday and wasn't very satisfied with the outcome. Firstly the massuse brought me into the room to get undressed and told me that she'd be back in a minute. I was left in there for a solid 10 minutes cold with just a towel wrapped around me. It takes all of thirty seconds to get undressed so I'm unsure why it took her so long to come back into the room. Then when she eventually came back in she intoduced herself and immediately started massaging my feet and legs. She never asked me what parts I would like her to focus on. She spent a good 35 minutes massaging my legs before moving onto my back which she only spent 10 minutes on. The massage itself was okay but what was the most off putting was she nattered the whole way through the massage about her life and personal things from start to finish. If I tried to speak, she'd speak over me and continue talking. I was hoping for a relaxing peaceful massage where I may fall asleep and all I got was 45 minutes (instead of an hour) of constant natter. It was NOT relaxing, peaceful, refreshing in anyway. I feel robbed of £85
My husband and I really enjoyed our visit London Therapy 4 U at Holiday Inn hotel. We had an evening appointment and we were a little worried that the therapists would be in a hurry and rush our session. That was not the case at all, the therapists took their time and did an excellent job. The ambiance was so relaxing with low lighting, soft music, and trendy decorations/furniture. The facilities, pool, steam room etc etc are all absolutely wonderful as are the staff. Extremely impressive.
Fabulous! Never felt so comfortable in a salon!! Ola was amazing. Waxing was well done and quick. Definitely recommended!
The spa itself was pleasant; a nice pool with an excellent jacuzzi, and a small steam room and sauna. We had an hour in the facilities and enjoyed them very much. We then went back to reception for our allotted massage time, where we were kept waiting for 30mins past our booked time. It was frustrating that they were so late, however these things do happen and I would have been understanding. The real problem was the massage itself. Quite frankly it was the worst I've ever paid for. I think I'd describe it as being covered in about half a gallon of oil and then stroked for an hour. Very little pressure except for the last few minutes meant I barely felt any muscle benefit, and I felt greasy and unpleasant until I got home. In contrast to the pool facilities, I felt the ambiance of the treatment area was pretty poor. The rooms themselves were nice, but the music was too loud, and there was no relaxation area; we weren't offered tea or even water. Every other spa I've been to has offered us drinks and given us places to relax after the massage. Overall, I could not recommend this spa when there are so many excellent others in London.
As we all know, waxing is not the best experience and never a treat, but at least sometimes you get to go in beautiful institutes and why not indulge yourself with a nice massage or manicure. Well for this experience in particualr, I have to say I was quite excited when they called me to say it will be in Park Plaza Victoria and not in Holiday Inn any more for a question of staff having moved. Anyway, once there I wasn't so excited any more. The reception is the same as the gym on the 3rd basement, then it's a small room at the end of a basement hallway. The room by itself was quite clean and well equiped though with nice zen music. The therapist was very nice although she didn't spoeak mnuch of english as she's been in London for only a few weeks, but she definitely wasn't very use to using hot wax either ... It was very painful (more than usual, and I've been using hot wax for about 10 years, so believe me I know). I don't think I will go again. Also because it's already started to grow again after only a week when it usualy last at least 2 or 3 weeks.
