Vital Health and Wellbeing at the Macdonald Alveston Manor Hotel and Spa is the perfect place for you to lose your stress and invest in yourself. Using Elemis and Jessica products you are sure to relax in one of our six treatment rooms and be pampered by our professionally trained therapists. Vital Beauty offers six superb treatment rooms, along with a candlelit relaxation suite and is a great place to unwind and release the stresses and strains of a hectic lifestyle.

Set in its own grounds but only a few minutes walk from Stratford town centre, the Macdonald Alveston Manor is one of the finest bases from which to explore the area. The original hotel comprises a beautiful Tudor building with many authentic features, whilst the gardens boast an ancient Cedar Tree under which, rumour has it, the first performance of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' was given.

Stratford-upon-Avon is steeped in Shakespearean history, nowhere more so than the picturesque Macdonald Alveston Manor and Spa.

We were greeted by the charming Chantelle who was "only" the apprentice but couldn't do enough to make our day (customer Service 10/10). My wife's nails were great after first application but had smudged before we left. My massage with Melissa was very nice and relaxing but kept strictly to time. My wife really enjoyed hers. The funniest thing of all was to eat our lunch in the bar wearing dressing gown and slippers (we did get some funny looks) - Neat trick park out front and register in hotel you then don't have to pay extra (pay and display) parking fees.

Really relaxing day in the centre of a beautiful city and within walking distance of the station. Staff were very friendly and made us feel really comfortable. Spa facilities were all clean and high spec, although there is no jacuzzi which would have been nice. Towels and robes were lovely and thick and fluffy and felt luxurious. Lunch was very large and very good quality (much better and more substantial than I would have guessed from the bento box description). Massage therapist was lovely and one of the best massages I've had. Overall, a super relaxing day in a fantastic location! Only criticism is that it was quite difficult to get in contact with them prior to the day.

Excellent hotel - great bar , great dining (both dinner & breakfast); also exceptionally good staff throughout the hotel. The SPA is so-so. The swimming pool / steam room area has no atmosphere/ ambience. Is more like any public swimming pool you would come across for a swim as opposed to a SPA pool where you feel relaxed. No jacuzzi. The treatment area however was very nice & relaxing, so that element was very good.

Male toilets especially in the pool area were very dirty. Dust on top of the urinals. Relaxation room was a little too small. Booked Food options were totally wrong for us and also another group in the restaraunt. Totally different options given at first then eventually we made do with something close to what we had ordered. The treatment was nice. The massuese could have introduced herself or asked if any specific spot needed attention or if the massage was too firm or not. the only talk was pretty much lie down. ..an hour later get up. . However it was a nice massage. The good bits out weighted the bad. Had a relaxing time and would return.

Not impressed with your booking whatsoever. It was a university reunion. We all drove from different parts of the country, averaging a 3 hour drive. Upon a arrival the booking from yourselves had not been received therefore no room for 2 of our party. The other booking we had made for 2 of our party through the hotel was fine!!!!

Lovely hotel and Spa, slightly surprised by the £5 parking fee which we didn't know about, but happy to pay seeing as it was a lot cheaper than parking else where!

2 friends and I went for the Afternoon Tea and Spa day. I enjoyed the pool, steam room and sauna. Would have liked a Jacuzzi. The treatment was lovely but the 'relaxation room' before the treatment was far from relaxing. It was cramped and full of people talking loudly. People were coming in and out every 2 minutes and discussing loudly how to use the coffee machine that was in the darkest corner of the room. Might be useful to put some instructions. There was no way I was able to relax and unwind in the environment. The massage was lovely and I could not fault it.
We then had afternoon tea but unfortunately had to wait 50 minutes for the food to come out. We asked the staff on several occasions who all replied 'it was on the way'. We wouldn't have minded waiting but 2 of our party had treatments booked for after the afternoon tea.
One of our party had not paid for the spa day before arriving at the venue. Not once did anyone ask her for payment. We had to inform staff at the end that she had not paid as we assumed someone would inform us when it was time to pay. She could have easily walked out without paying and no one would have noticed.
The whole organisation of the place just needs some work.

Great value, the Bento box lunch was delicious, my treatments were great.
The only negative was that the pool was very cold.

Didn't have facial but can't take star away entered in error. Spa was great hotel was only thing that let day down. Changing rooms had been changed over so had to use mens urinals arent nice to have with one loo for women. Long walk to hotel bar would be better tohave somewhere nearer to spa.

The spa had not received vouchers from wahanda so we were constantly badgered to forward our e mail but there was no signal there. Only when we decided to leave early did staff suddenly decide that they could ring wahanda to ensure we had in fact booked. The spa is really the health suite pool with a couple of treatment rooms. The lunch order was wrong you have to troop through the hotel and sit in the main bar to eat your lunch. It was my birthday and the relaxing day we had planned was totally spoilt

As a birthday treat, this could not have been any better. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure our experience was just what we expected- a wonderful day all round. Thank you, what a super day!
