Everything was great except the waxing itself. I've been getting Hollywood waxes for the last 5 years so I'm pretty certain when I know a good wax experience from a not so good. I'll start with what I loved:
- the ambience
- it was warm, cosy and clean
- they had friends on tv, so I was amused rather than having to make conversation
- there were wipes and cleansers for me to use
- they were reasonably priced
- the session took only 30 mins
- it was a relatively clean finish
Now onto the things I wasn't a fan of:
1) I was asked to sit with my legs open in a way that was uncomfortable for the entire duration of the 30min session. I've had sessions where wax therapists have gotten creative with different positions that make it both comfortable for the customer and easier for them.
2) it seems like the wax therapist kept going over the same spot. In fact I'm pretty certain she was, and I know I have thick hair but it shouldn't take more than two tries. I think this was down to the fact that the wax wasn't being pulled against my skin but rather away. In fact, this made parts of the wax experience more uncomfortable.
3) tweezers. Please don't ever tweezer on the insides! Some ladies may be comfortable but putting a sharp object down there was a horrible feeling.
I would not write this place off, it definitely lives up to its reviews and probably does cater for the 99%. But everyone has different preferences .
