I walked in and felt very welcome from the word go. I came even earlier than my appointment and they still managed to squeeze in my session sooner than previously planned. I was made as comfortable as possible and the lady performing the wax was very friendly and approachable.
Towards the end, she noticed some hairs on my back and suggested that I had a back wax done. I'd considered it beforehand but as the hairs on my back were quite sparse, I didn't see it as a massive problem. She said there weren't that many hairs herself so as I was getting my shoulders waxed anyway, I thought, well surely it'll only be a few more pounds on top of what I've paid already so that'll be fine. I wasn't informed of what the prices of a back wax were at this point, however I agreed and went ahead with the back wax and because there were hardly any hairs, it took a fraction of the time it took to wax the rest of my torso.
When the wax was complete, I was quite shocked and disappointed to discover that the fee for the short time waxing my back was calculated at £25 extra. Considering I had paid only £39 to cover my chest, shoulders, stomach and armpit, the suggestion of paying an extra £25 for waxing a few back hairs seemed utterly absurd. Even the receptionist looked extremely awkward having to ask me for that sum of money. However, all the staff had to rely on was the price list provided by the company. If there was a manager present to support the staff with making decisions like that, then maybe we could have come to a reasonable solution and common sense would have prevailed. In all honesty though, that moment completely killed my experience of the place and as a result, I would say that, unfortunately, it's now highly unlikely that I'll ever be returning to this place again.
