She asked me where I wanted particular attention so I explained that my back had been spasming. However, for the full duration my masseuse avoided my actual muscle groups, made no attempt to find or address any knots/tension, only really massaging my spine and my shoulder blades. As someone who has around 5-8 massages a year, it was obvious that she’d either never given a massage before or was acutely inexperienced, not doing some of the most basic of massage movements.
