First, I really like the people at the salon. They were really lovely; warm, friendly, welcoming and empowered to make decisions with their clients. The lower star rating does not reflect the staff approach to customer service which was excellent.
Why the lower star rating? I was just a little disappointed with the facilities, and it kind of spoiled what I'd booked as an afternoon of pampering. I'm a recent import to the area so I may just be bringing different experience and expectations to the table, but see what you think...
I booked a (a) mini manicure, (b) a deluxe pedicure and (c) eyebrow threading and this is how it went:
(a) Mini manicure. I don't do gel, and there was a limited range of ordinary varnish and that was fine. For the mini price I wasn't expecting hand massages or anything, just a clean, shape, polish and hand cream. All that was good but I would have liked to have seen hand cream at the end as they needed a good dollop when I got home.
(b) Deluxe pedicure. There are only the equivalent of dining room chairs in the salon, and feeling 'deluxe' without at least a high backed chair is pretty tricky. Here soaking your feet involves balancing in a babyliss-type footbath and then balancing your feet from your dining chair to another chair, or the floor. But this aside, while the therapist did a great job with my nails, that's all she did - my nails. There was no foot or leg massage or cream, no taking care of the feet, just nails. This wasn't a pedicure, it was doing the nails on my feet.
(c) Threading didn't happen as there was no thread.
Like i said, the staff were truly lovely, but I kind of expected more from the treatments so I'm unlikely to go back. However, if the staff did the same treatments at a lower cost as a mobile service, I suspect they could get a good local following as this did feel like they were treating you in dining room or something and they were very good at that.

Love my new cut and Gill took me from Blonde to Brunette and I'm so happy with the colour!
everyone at the salon is so friendly! o felt instantly at ease. I had acrylic nails done which are so good, there was a large range of colours to choose from so I was a bit stuck for choice.
I also had baylyage done. I've only dyed my hair once before so I was a bit nervous but the process was so quick and the results are very nice indeed!
would definitely recommend to anyone.
