Arrived and asked to sit in the hairdressers section of the salon and ‘Marta’ passes me and says hello, but doesn’t actually stop and inform me she will be doing my nails and ask me to follow her. Which resulted in confusion and an awkward moment but nothing too awful. The coffee offered was delicious and Marta was generally polite and pleasant. It would have been nice to have a little more help in choosing the colour as there was so much choice and choosing a nudey pink is quite the task and I did feel rushed in deciding. I asked for a slightly shorter, straighter look with curved corner. She cut quite short and when I realised it was a lot more curved than I like, I had to ask for it to be straightened which resulted in a really quite short look, probably the shortest I’ve had. Marta paid a lot of attention and did a great job at the manicure itself, just perhaps it would been better to not cut the nails so short the first time to have some room to change (this has never been an issue in the past) Halfway through my manicure, a fellow nail technician starts talking with another and they go over to the pedicure section and she starts doing the other techs nails (opposite to where I am sat) Their conversation is loud enough for me to hear over the busy salon and they start talking about her friend being raped. Obviously I’m extremely sorry to hear this, but it’s not really a topic I would like to hear when I’m having a pampering treat on a Saturday morning. Others could be really affected if they heard this so I think it is important I mention it in this review.
All in all, I wasn’t very satisfied. The nails are too short and I wish I had more help/time in choosing the nail colour. As later that day I was going on to celebrate my birthday, it did make an impact. I don’t think it’s worth the £36 that they usually would have been and I’m relieved I didn’t pay the full price.
