I have naturally dark brown hair, and in September this year I got my whole head bleached to go blonde by Sean. The experience was amazing, and I knew going in there was no guarantees but he did an amazing job and I left with the colour I wanted and my hair still in great condition. On Wednesday 19 I went back to the salon simply to get my roots bleached to match the rest of my hair, and to get a olaplex treatment to maintain condition. I booked with a senior stylist, at 2:30 and expected to be finished at 4:30 (as per the email detailed).
Everything was fine initially, with the application of the bleach etc. however when the toner was applied and washed out, and my hair dried, my whole head was a completely different colour to when I arrived. I came in bright blonde, and ended up a dull light brown (I have a photo to show this). When I said this wasn't the colour I wanted, the stylist said she wanted to be safe which I understand but that she wasn't 'young and hip' and was aiming for a more natural tone. Being Asian and darker skinned, with blonde hair, I though it was clear that 'natural' wasn't what I was going for anyway. Also, there was no decision to be made on her part regarding colour as I was simply getting my roots bleached, not my whole head. Although this was rectified somewhat by washing the toner out, it added hours to my time there and I left at 6:30 with my hair a far darker and brassier colour than what I went in with.
Also, despite the olaplex treatment, my hair has never felt drier than when I left the salon that day. It was silky and conditioned when I went in, and now its brittle leaving me wondering what I paid for?
Compared to my experience at this salon in September, I feel very disappointed and that I wasted my time and money. What was meant to be a simple roots bleaching, by a senior stylist, has left me with my hair a completely different colour and texture.
At the time I had to leave in a rush as I had already spent two hours extra there and couldn't express how I felt, particularly as the stylists friend had arrived at the salon on her birthday to get her hair done. I felt as if I was being rushed out, so that she could attend to her.
