I've got my haircut at Gro Brixton over the last year and am usually very happy but was seriously disappointed by my latest haircut. Usually the blond, camp guy cuts my hair and he's so lovely and always cuts my hair exactly how I ask. This time it was a new guy with big muscles and a shaved head (name like Mourciso or something!). Terrible haircut, cuts loads more off than I asked and it's completely uneven and has a massive kind of step in it (I have long hair with long layers). Very disappointed and can now only wait for it to grow back. No idea why they hired him, he also cut it super quickly and blow dried it in a pretty horrible way.
I've had my hair cut here a few times and have been completely satisfied (even overjoyed) with the results, giving 5-star reviews. This last visit, however, was a little disappointing...Instead of going for a senior stylist as I have in the past, I decided to save a few £ and get a cut from a regular Stylist, thinking that a tidy up of my long layers would be straightforward enough. I brought in a photo to try to show the look I was going for, but the stylist didn't seem interested and just asked me to explain verbally what I wanted. Something must have got lost in translation because what I initially ended up with was not what I asked for, so I had to ask him to fix it - which he did for the most part but I did get an acute sense that he was getting frustrated with me (despite me trying to be as nice as possible about the situation), and that is never a good thing from someone going at your hair with a pair of scissors. I left the salon feeling a little let down by the experience though my hair is fine (just fine). I think in future I'll stump up for the skills and expertise of the senior stylists - now I know you get what you pay for.
