That was my first facial experience...
First of all, do not book a facial at 341... I did and when i came for my appointment the lady said they do not have anything to do that, they're more like a dental clinic. Thankfully, she was able to arrange it at their other clinic at 191 on the same Kilburn high road, so i had to walk there to get the treatment. So the treatwell system says the facials are available there, and i booked the place closer to where i live, but they don't!
When i got to the other branch they took me in after few mins of waiting.
The facial itself was relaxing and the stuff they use smells nice, i only did not like the steaming part, because the lady adjusted the steamer in a way that steam was going directly into my nostrils, i had trouble breathing, started panicking and suffocating and had to ask her to move it away... When you hear someone catching air like a fish it's not like you stand and wait for them to ask to move it away??! So the steam part was nowhere near relaxing.
The rest of the facial was alright, but the staff could be a bit more friendly...
Brazilian Wax from hell! I booked that place not because of the price but because it's the closest to my house, and my previous amazing wax lady moved to salon far away.
First, they moved me to another salon on Kilburn High Rd (191), when I came there, there were no beauticians there, and the place was empty (at 11 am), so the woman said 'ok, I'll do it myself then'. As we started, first thing she told me to trim my hair a bit 'otherwise it's going to hurt so much '. This shocked me, because every beautician tells me I have so little hair (I'm a write girl with thin hair in general, I don't even get hair on legs) -- and why would it hurt so much, these days the wax is excellent. Then she handled me the scissors, but they were not cosmetic scissors but large maintenance old ones, it was so unhygienic!
She also didn't apply any lotions amd didn't clean the area before starting.
The wax wasn't the pink hot wax that is painless and quick. I realised they have some old wax there to use with stripes.
I'm not a soft character, but when she started, I realised it will be a nightmare. She didn't know how to do it. My former beautician would use maybe 2 big painful rips, then few small ones to clean, that's all. This staff ripped me maybe 200 times, she would rip every area on and on, the pain was excruciating, I told her to stop to let me breathe and she did (she was a nice lady, Iranian, I think, the problem was the was and that she was not a professional beautician) -- she only used 1 stripe to clean one side (with maybe 100 rips), saving on paper?! She also glue the stripe to the whole of my area (it has 3 parts, if you can imagine, to do the outer sides separately) -- and rip, what caused damage to the middle gentle area, I was shocked.
Overall, after half an hour of torturing my skin, I was numb in pain, it felt as if I'm in some war ghetto. She told me this wax was cheaper to use for them. How awful. There are lots of places now where you can have your wax painlessly, with professional trained beauticians, who know the wax brands for memory, not with some scared woman who can cause damage to your body.
