I had quite a bad experience with a hollywood wax here.
I received a phone call from a moody lady 12 min before my appoint was supposed to start, who asked me "why I missed my appointment". When I was trying to explain that it was still before the starting time and I was on my way she didnt understand me (her English was quite poor) and hang up.
When arriving at the venue I was received very friendly by the reception staff and also one of the therapists (Leila) was great. However, the angry lady did my Hollywood wax which was the most horrible, messy and painful experience I ever had in my life.
She spilled wax everywhere, had a very unusual technique which was VERY painful (I am not sure what went wrong, but I have been waxing for over a decade and it has never been so painful), left lots of hairs behind, and touched me a bit too much to my liking (mostly out of clumsiness - I know that a bit of touching is inherent to the treatment, but - again - I never experienced anything like this!).
When I complained, she told me it was my own fault, as my hair was too long for hot wax and that I should have used strip wax. Besides the fact that my booking said "normal wax" (hence I had never asked for hot wax in the first place), I tried to explain her that she could have told me that the hair length was going to be an issue before starting the treatment and that we could have discussed going for strip wax instead. I don't think she understood my point (again a language issue) and kept ripping my hair out, repeating whenever I was in agony that next time I should trim before coming in.
Besides this, people kept walking in and out of the room, whilst I was in there
- naked - , even after I had indicated I wasn't feeling very comfortable about that. (Again Leila respected that, the other lady (and the colleague knocking) did not respect that).
I will never com back here, and would recommend to the venue manager to train up all staff members on the basic principles of human dignity and respect to clients - (especially the one staff member I am referring). It was a very awful experience.
